Help us keep doing what we do

The Public Studio Project runs on a simple idea: actors should be able to train rigorously on a regular basis, regardless of financial means.

Classes operate on a pay-what-you-can basis and the studio is sustained collectively by the people who take part.

If you’d like to support the project, there are several ways to do so.

The most direct way to support the studio is simply by showing up.

Classes run on a pay-what-you-can basis, which means contributions are flexible. If you’re in a position to contribute generously, it helps keep the space open for others who may not be able to.

The studio occasionally collaborates with artists, teachers and practitioners who want to contribute their skills.

This might include:

  • guest teaching

  • sharing rehearsal space or resources

  • offering specialist workshops

  • supporting documentation or creative projects

If you’re interested in contributing in this way, please get in touch via the contact form below.

Independent projects grow through word of mouth.

If you’ve found value in the work we do, sharing the studio with other artists helps the project continue to grow.

You can support by:

  • sharing posts

  • recommending the studio to other actors

  • inviting collaborators to attend

What Your Contributions go Towards

A typical class session costs roughly £30 per student if run at a fixed fee. Here’s how that breaks down:

  • Studio hire: £10 per hour at Theatre Deli (peak times may be higher)

  • Facilitator / teaching time: £30 per hour for facilitators

  • Booking fees: ~£0.25 + 2% per online transaction

  • Other costs: travel, equipment, website maintenance, administration

Beyond the classroom, a lot of work goes into preparing sessions, organising bookings, responding to enquiries, and maintaining the studio — all of which supports a safe and effective training environment.
